The Halifax Mooseheads named BO Groulx captain on Thursday.
The fourth-year centre was the No. 1 pick in the 2016 QMJHL draft and recently signed a contract with the Anaheim Ducks, who picked him in the second round of the 2018 NHL draft. Defenceman Patty Kyte will be a permanent assistant captain and a handful of others will share the other A.
Groulx has 178 points in 202 career games, including 12 in seven so far this season. He set a personal high last year with 80 points.
Kyte is in his third season in Halifax after signing as a free agent. He 59 points in 134 career games.
