NEW MINAS, N.S. — Mae Batherson, the sister of former Cape Breton Screaming Eagle Drake Batherson, has signed with Syracuse University for the 2019-2020 season.

Batherson, daughter of Norm and Deeann Batherson, and granddaughter of Matt and Kay Batherson of North Sydney, committed to the university last year, but officially signed with the American university last Tuesday.

The defenceman is currently playing with the Kingston Ice Wolves of the Provincial Women's Hockey League.
