UPEI wins 71-69 at Acadia

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Milorad Sedlarevic scored 22 points to pace the UPEI Panthers to a 71-69 road victory over the Acadia Axemen Friday in Atlantic University Sport men’s basketball action.

The Panthers are in first place at 3-0 while Acadia (0-3) is in the basement of the eight-team conference.

Amin Suleman added 12 points for the Panthers while Dakelle Brooks had 10 and Nudy Georges had eight points and nine rebounds.

Junior Moaku-Matia had 18 points for the Axemen while former Holland College Hurricane Trevon Grant had 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals and Nick De Palma scored 13 points. The Axemen went 10-for-19 at the free-throw line.

UPEI led 24-19 after the first quarter, but the game was tied 37-37 at the half. The Panthers took a 53-52 lead to the fourth.

The teams play against Saturday at 8 p.m.
