The one-time restaurant on the corner of Main St. and Gaspereau Ave. got a fresh coat of paint last week for use as a movie set.

A portion of the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, A November Christmas, will be shot in Wolfville and Windsor.

John Corbett, Aidan from Sex and the City, is one of the stars. Corbett currently stars in the movie Ramona and Beezus, which opened in theatres in Nova Scotia last week.

Other stars include Emmy nominee Sam Elliott, Karen Allen, Sarah Paulson and young Emily Alyn Lind from The Secret Lives of Bees.

A November Christmas, shooting until August 20, is being directed by Robert Harmon, who led the Nova Scotia-shot Jesse Stone TV movies starring Tom Selleck.

A release from the Hallmark Hall of Fame production states A November Christmas was written by P’Nenah Goldstein, who also wrote the screenplay for the Emmy-nominated Hallmark Hall of Fame telefilm Loving Leah, based on a short story of the same name written by Greg Coppa.

The movie synopsis says, “in this drama, set in a small Rhode Island community, neighbours band together to create magical Halloween and Christmas moments - several weeks early - for a young girl named Vanessa who is facing a serious illness.

“Told entirely in flashback from the perspective of a vibrant Vanessa, at age 23, the drama begins in the summer of 1995 when the eight-year-old (played by Lind) has just returned from several weeks of tests and treatments at a Providence hospital.”

The movie is slated for broadcast Nov. 28 at 10 p.m. on CBS.

I have never seen Wolfville so beautiful. There was a spirit in town that I have never seen before. The atmosphere seemed like a real old fashion christmas. I hope that when christmas does come it will be just as beautiful.
