Wow, I’m getting slack. I forgot to remind everyone that Tuesday, March 5, was Shrove Tuesday – Pancake Day! And; of course, the following day would be Ash Wednesday ushering in the solemn days of Lent.

March 7, an ecumenical service for World Day of Prayer, takes place at St. Anthony’s, Berwick, at 7 p.m.

World Day of Prayer also takes place at 2 p.m. on March 7 at St. Mary’s, Auburn. The service was written by the women of Egypt. The preacher will be The Rev. Brenda Nesbitt. This is sponsored by the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada.

The roast beef supper at the Rebekah Hall starts at 5 p.m. Call 538-7762 for tickets.

Spring ahead on March 9 (at 2 a.m.) to keep in stride with the rest of the world.

And looking further ahead… the Christ Church luncheons start April 2 this year. For the last two years this didn’t happen because the Dinner Theatre was taking place. There is no dinner theatre in April this year.

Organizations: South Berwick Community Centre, Church Council of Canada, Christ Church Dinner Theatre
