Children at Gaspereau Valley Elementary School marked Remembrance Day with a service Nov. 9, one of many such ceremonies held in the area over the past week.

Throughout Kings County, services are scheduled for Nov. 11 to remember Canada's war dead and honour veterans.

In Wolfville, a ceremony will be held at Convocation Hall, Acadia University, from 10:45 a.m. to noon.

In Kentville, a ceremony will be held at the cenotaph at 11 a.m.

In Berwick, the legion will host a Remembrance Day dinner at 6 p.m., with guest speaker Holocaust survivor Philip Riteman

Canning Legion's service begins at 9:45 a.m.
