Exceptionally high tides

Tides have been exceptionally high as of late, with the waves of the Minas Basin lapping at the Wolfville waterfront the afternoon of Nov. 14. The tide is expected to peak in elevation today, Nov. 15, at 16.2 metres. There is concern dykes could potentially be compromised but wind and rain shouldn’t be significant contributing factors today. The Environment Canada forecast for Kentville is calling for mainly cloudy conditions with winds out of the northeast at 20 km/h gusting to 40 km/h and a high of 9C.
