Events postponed due to impending weather

The production of Who's in Bed with the Butler is cancelled on Saturday (Feb. 9) and Sunday (Feb. 10). There will be an extra performance rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 14.

The County Fair Mall is closed today.

Kings Transit buses are not running this morning.

All NSLC outlets are closed.

Sobeys is closed this morning and will re-assess later.

All Maritime Bus routes this morning are cancelled.

Due to the impending storm this weekend, the Town of Berwick has decided to postpone all Winter Carnival events until the weekend of Feb. 16-17. A complete update of next weekend's events will be provided in a day or so.

A bouldering competition, set for Saturday at West Kings, has also been postponed. It will now be held Feb. 23.

The benefit breakfast scheduled for Feb.9 at the Burlington Community Hall for Linda Mapplebeck has been rescheduled for Feb.16 at 8 a.m.

The Winter Wine Festival has been postponed due to the impending storm. It will now be held Feb. 16-17. All events will continue as usual (the gala on Thursday, Sushi on Saturday and showshoeing on Sunday), just one week later. 

The Two Planks Passion Theatre has re-scheduled its annual fundraising event, Arabian Nights, to the storm date on Feb. 16 due to the unfavourable forecast. 

The Long Pond Heritage Classic Committee has cancelled this year’s Long Pond Heritage Classic event on Feb. 9, due to a forecasted snowstorm. The cancellation affects the Saturday events only. The Friday night double header at the Windsor Arena is still on. The Windsor RCMP will face–off against the Windsor/Hantsport Firefighters at 6 p.m. while the Long Pond Classic All-Star game starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Wolfville Farmers' Market will be cancelled Feb. 9, due to the forecasted storm. On Feb. 16, the market celebrates Chinese New Year. 

The Port Williams Women's Institute has postponed their 100th anniversary celebration to Feb. 16. They will hold a Valentine Tea at the community center in Port Williams from 2-4 p.m.

Kentville Kettlebell Training class that was to start Feb 9 at the Kentville Rec. Centre has been cancelled. Classes will now start Feb 16 at 11 a.m. 

The walk-in clinic at Western Kings Memorial Health Centre, located in Berwick, will be closed on Feb. 9 due to the forecasted snow storm. This closure impacts the walk-in clinic service that normally operates on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents can visit www.annapolisvalleyhealth.ca at any time to find up-to-date information. If you have an emergency, please call 911 or visit a local emergency department. For non-emergency health information, please call 811 to speak with a Registered Nurse. Annapolis Valley Health apologizes for any inconvenience.

The Acadia University Art Gallery will be closed Feb. 9 due to weather warnings. The Family Art Day scheduled for Feb. 9 has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date. The art gallery will re-open on Feb. 10, noon-4 p.m.

Due to the approaching storm, all Nova Scotia Major Bantam League hockey games scheduled for Feb. 9 and 10 have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
