14 Wing Greenwood
GREENWOOD NS - Range detonations may create sound in communities around 14 Wing Greenwood on May 17.
The 14 Air Maintenance Squadron, 14 Wing Greenwood, plans to conduct several detonations at the range on base Wednesday, according to spokesperson Sarah Keddy.
Range activities will be conducted between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The public is advised sound from the activity may extend beyond the range and be noticeable by people in surrounding areas, Keddy said.
The weather may be a factor in how far sound may be noticeable.
Flyby planned for May 21
A CC-130 Hercules aircraft from 413 (Transport and Rescue) Squadron, 14 Wing Greenwood, will conduct a flyby at 1 p.m. over Kingston on May 21.
The flyby will support the opening weekend events in the Valley Raceway season. The aircraft will conduct a low-level pass over the region, no lower than 500 feet to 1,000 feet above obstacles.
Again Keddy noted, this flyby is dependent upon both weather conditions and any potential search and rescue calls at the time.
