Firefighters in Canning were called to put out hotspots at a residence on Stewart Mountain Road in Blomidon around 8:30 a.m. Dec. 18.

There was a fire at the two-storey home the previous evening. The home was extensively damaged, but insured. The homeowners were not injured.

Waterville firefighters extinguished a chimney fire on Rawding Rock in Black Rock. They were called out at 7:36 p.m. and finished at 8:58 p.m.

Dec. 19

Canning firefighters tackled a structure fire on Pereau Road in Upper Pereau. The fire started in the chimney. There were no injuries, but the homeowners were displaced until the only source of heat in the home was repaired.

Dec. 20

Waterville firefighters responded to an alarm at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre at 9:28 a.m. The alarm was triggered by a piece of heating equipment. The scene was cleared at 10:45 a.m.

Dec. 22

Watervulle firefighters responded to a single vehicle accident near the top of the mountain on Black Rock Road at 12:53 a.m. Dec. 22. The vehicle left the road, but the occupant was out when firefighters arrived. Firefighters remained on scene until 2:45 a.m.

Canning firefighters assisted with a two-vehicle collision that resulted in fluids leaking on Main Street at 10:40 a.m. There were no injuries.

Dec. 24

Kingston firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on Highway 101 in Wilmot at Stronach Mountain Road at about 2 p.m.

Dec. 25

A pedestrian on Main Street in Canning was struck by a motor vehicle at about 6:30 a.m. The individual was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries. The fire department provided assistance at the scene.

Berwick firefighters responded to an electrical fire on Brooklyn Street in Somerset at 5:15 p.m.

Dec. 26

Aylesford firefighters responded to a collision between a car and a deer in Aylesford East. There were no injuries.

Berwick firefighters responded to a strong smell of propane on Commercial Street at 8:16 p.m.

Dec. 27

Kentville firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Thorpe Road in Billtown at 10:20 a.m.

Kentville firefighters were called to a two-vehicle, rear-end collision on Main Street in Kentville at 10:33 a.m. The response was stood down.

Waterville firefighters were dispatched to a chimney fire at Randolph Road in Cambridge at 10: 29 p.m. The scene was cleared at 23:29 p.m. There were no injuries.

New Minas firefighters responded to a power pole on fire in New Minas at 4:44 p.m.

Dec. 28

Waterville firefighters extinguished a chimney fire in Chipman Brook. There were no injuries.
