The work began at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 6, making the school and adjacent indoor soccer facility solely accessible via West Main Street.
“We anticipate that it will be completed today,” said Town of Kentville spokesperson Lindsay Young.
The water main repair required the temporary closure of Gary Pearl Drive between the driveways for the school and soccer dome.
“The town worked out the repair plan so as to minimize the disruption to school-related traffic and operations as much as possible,” said Young.
It is estimated the work, contracted to Howard Little, will cost about $10,000.
“There may be some cost related to repairing the curb and asphalt but we don’t know what that will be yet,” said Young.
A public service announcement issued by the Kentville Water Commission states that residents and businesses that could potentially be impacted by this repair work were notified.
