KENTVILLE, NS - A North Kentville man has been handed a conditional sentence with house arrest for two counts of voyeurism.
Jedadiah Nathan Levy, 38, pleaded guilty on Dec. 19, 2017, to two counts of surreptitiously making a visual recording of a person in circumstances that give rise to a reasonable expectation of privacy. The matters were adjourned to Feb. 20 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and for sentencing.
Judge Ronda Van Der Hoek handed Levy a six-month conditional sentence order with house arrest for the first three months, followed by daily curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the remaining three months. The conditional sentence will be followed by 24 months of probation.
The court granted a DNA order and imposed a 10-year Sex Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) order against Levy. He was also fined a total of $200 in victim surcharges.
Levy committed the offences in North Kentville between April 1 and 30, 2017, and on Oct. 9, 2017. Two counts of making child pornography – visual recordings – were withdrawn on Feb. 20. The identity of the victim is protected by a publication ban.
