Elizabeth Rockwell — Amherst

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Francis (Layton) Rockwell at The Gables Lodge Nursing Care Home in Amherst, NS on June 18, 2018. Born in Highland Village, Colchester Co, N.S. on July 10, l934, she was the daughter of the late Roy Clinton Layton & Greta Motty (Hill) Layton. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Donald Edward Rockwell who passed in May of 2017. She is lovingly survived by sons Bob (Keri) of Frisco, Texas; Jim (Louise) of Nackawic, NB; Paul (Pamela) of Nackawic; & daughter Nancy (Darron) Parker of Moncton, NB. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Adam, Chase, Mellissa, Jordan & Dillon & 2 great-granddaughters, Sophia & Emily. Also survived & will be missed greatly by sister Sharon (John) Greer of Truro, NS & her sisters in laws & brother in law of NS & many nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by infant daughter, Deborah and sisters Ruth & Audrey. Cremation has taken place. Private family Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, N.S. For those who wish to make donations in Betty’s name they can be made to Canadian Breast Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Gables for their compassion & care of our mom during her last days.
