It’s a busy week in the Maritime Junior Hockey League.

Monday was the deadline for MHL teams to submit territorial picks and the expansion draft for the St. Stephen County Aces will be held on Tuesday.

Read about the Valley Wildcats' territorial picks here.

Later this week, the league’s annual general meeting is scheduled for Friday morning at the Quality Inn in Summerside, and the annual draft will take place at Credit Union Place on Saturday afternoon.

Expansion draft

In the expansion draft, the Aces will be allowed to select two players from each of the 11 other teams, who are allowed to protect 12 skaters and one goaltender from their protected lists.

Teams are allowed to add an additional player to their protected list once they lose a player.

Players born in 1996 or 1997 who were on a junior A card as of Feb. 10, 2014, are exempt from the expansion draft, as well as 2013 territorial picks.

No trades are allowed during the expansion draft.

The Aces will also hold the first-overall pick on Saturday.
